It takes a union between a man and a woman to produce a child.

"In order to produce children, which was what marriage was ordained for, it takes a female egg and a male sperm. It cannot be done any other way.

When I moved to the town I live in now, I had the opportunity to meet two women who were together in a mobile home, one who had a baby. I asked which of them was the mother of the baby, and one of them said that they were co-parenting it; raising it together. I didn't pursue the question further, having previously lived in an area where that topic was descriptive of many very visible situations. I found it tasteless to discuss it.

But what happens when that child reaches the age of mandatory education? When forms have to be filled out, asking about the mother and the father. When little children ask each other about daddies and mommies. How does a child say that he or she has two mommies or two daddies? Do you see how complicated this gets?

I see it all the time on TV, and it is depicted in comedy situations, two men and a boy, in all kinds of family situations, but it just is not funny to me, because I know that a child should not be living like this. I want everybody to feel free to respond with your true feelings about what I have written.

Thank you for reading this.
